Men's Cornerstone

Our Mission:
CORNERSTONE
is a retreat experience that provides a spark of grace and the will to lead to nourish all men's desire to embrace God.

We are ordinary men of St. Anne's parish who join together to bring its many gifts to the men of the parish.

Together we combine our faith, will, strength, talent and determination to create a fulfilling experience for the benefit and spiritual enrichment of all.

Cornerstone does this through the sharing of life stories and lessons, humor, music, good food, prayer and fellowship. We help participants find personal fulfillment through an exploration of their priorities, values, and aspirations.

Our goal is to lead our members to becoming more complete so they can strengthen and expand their relationships at home, work, and within the parish community. Our group seeks to assist others by all means possible on our collective journey toward a stronger, more faith-filled relationship with God.

The cornerstone as a symbol for Christ has Old Testament roots in Isaiah's prophecy.

The IHC and XP are abbreviations for "Jesus" and "Christ" in Greek.

Isa. 28:16 So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed. (NIV)

Eph. 2:19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

WOMEN'S CORNERSTONE & GROW

Women's Cornerstone has decided to go on hiatus for a year. This means there will not be a Cornerstone Retreat for women in 2012.
This hiatus gives those involved with planning a chance to sit back, regroup, and breathe.
When Cornerstone returns, it will be with a renewed sense
of purpose, strengthened in faith, ready to provide a life-changing spiritual
experience.

In the meantime, GROW (God Reaches Out to Women) is back!
Keep checking the bulletin & the parish website for upcoming events.

GROW: “God Reaches Out to Women”

G.R.O.W., a home-grown organization, initiated here at St. Anne’s, offers spiritual, social, and educational faith experiences for women of all ages.  GROW evolved from the 26-hour Women’s Cornerstone retreat experiences held yearly in our church for the women of our parish and other parishes.

Past G.R.O.W. events have included topics such as emotional health, the strength of biblical women, Mary Magdalene, the power of Taize prayer, and a discussion of the book  “Why Jesus Makes Me Nervous” by Joy Jordan-Lake.  G.R.O.W. has also co-hosted Masses of Remembrance with the Men’s Cornerstone team.

G.R.O.W. hopes to continue to educate, inform, and nourish the faith of the women of St. Anne’s parish community, and is always open to suggestions for future events.  For more information or to put your name on G.R.O.W.’s mailing list, contact Donna Stickna
